Quartzite is the primary component of quartzite, a nonfoliated metamorphic rock. It is created when the pressure, heat, and chemical activity of metamorphism transform a sandstone that is rich in quartz. The sand grains’ silica cement bonds are recrystallized due to these circumstances.

In New York and the United States, residences frequently include quartzite countertops. Although they behave as closely as granite stone, they have the appearance of marble. In addition to other excellent qualities, quartzites are resilient to heat.
